Climate Change Education

Did you know that climate change isn’t a central part of the K-12 curriculum?  Climate change is a serious threat to all life on Earth.  It can feel like an overwhelming challenge, but there are solutions.  One of them is to equip our kids with the knowledge and skills to understand climate change and take action to address the problem.

As a parent, you can advocate for improved climate change education by:

1.      Asking your child’s teacher whether they will incorporate climate change into their classroom content, and if so, which resources they will be using.

2.      Letting school administrators know that you value climate change education.

3.      Writing to Jennifer Whiteside, Minister of Education, in support of climate change curriculum - EDUC.Minister@gov.bc.ca.

4.      Signing on to Climate Education Reform BC’s open letter to Jennifer Whiteside - Open Letter to Ministry of Education | Reform To Transform.
