Join Your Division Chat Group
Each year your PAC appoints a parent/caregiver from each of your children's classes to be that classes parent Division Representative. Once you know what division your child will be in (usually at the end of the first week of school in September) we will call for volunteers to be appointed as Division Reps, and invite you to join the parent chat group for your children’s classes. Your child's teacher or the PAC will also be able to give you contact details for the Division Rep.
All our parent Division Chat Groups use the Signal app, which is available for most phones, tablets, and computers.

Chat Guidelines
It is important that the parent Division chat groups be a friendly, helpful forum to interact with other class parents and guardians. Here are some general guidelines for posting messages in your Division chat group:
- If you are not sure whether to post a message, ask yourself whether it is relevant, necessary, kind, and constructive.
- Keep messages brief and avoid posting unnecessary messages or messages about topics that aren’t relevant to the purpose of the group.
- Post your message in one single chunk of text. Avoid posting every sentence in a new message, to minimize notification sounds for recipients.
- Avoid long one-on-one conversations in the group, especially if the discussion isn’t relevant to the other families. Consider messaging each other privately.
- Do not post in any group late at night or early in the morning unless it is an emergency.
- A Division chat group is not the appropriate forum for raising grievances against students, fellow parents, or school staff. Contact your child’s teacher directly and, if necessary, you can also email the Principal or Vice Principal of the school to seek assistance. Any problems involving school staff should follow the VSB Conflict Resolution Process.
- You may wish to mute your Division chat group. You will still receive all the messages, but you won’t receive sound notifications for every message.
