A Division group communicating in WhatsApp is a great way of exchanging information about division events, homework requirements, school events, deadlines and other relevant and important issues. Following these simple guidelines can make sure that the division WhatsApp group is a friendly helpful forum to interact with other class parents and guardians.

- Be as kind and constructive.
- If you are not sure whether to post a message, ask yourself whether it is relevant, necessary and kind.
- Only post messages about the division and school community. Ie. Do not post about outside events. Do not post news that is not specifically related. Do post about the upcoming field trip or ask about homework.
- Keep messages brief and avoid posting unnecessary messages.
- Post your message in one single chunk of text, don’t post every word or sentence in a new message.
- Move one-on-one conversations to private messages.
- Avoid posting between 9.00 pm and 7.00 am (unless it is an emergency).
- Problems involving school staff should follow the VSB Conflict Resolution Process.
- You may wish to mute your Whatsapp group. You will still receive all the messages, but you won’t receive sound notifications for every message.
