Dear Lord Robert Families,
Thank you for being a part of our community! In this bulletin you will find:
Dear Lord Roberts Families, As this will be my last official PAC e-bulletin as PAC Chair, I wanted to take the opportunity to say thank you to our school community for the opportunity to take on this role and to every volunteer who has helped us to achieve our goals in the last several years. (Next week you will be able to check out our Annual Report on lordrobertspac.ca in the Meetings section for more details on all that was accomplished last year.) I especially want to thank everyone who has been on the PAC Executive team in my last two years as Chair. Each and every one of you gave generously of your passion and expertise and approached the sometimes daunting tasks we faced with an attitude of "let's keep it fun while we get lots done". None of us really knew what we were doing when we started, but your ability to entertain ideas, get creative, stay positive and roll up your sleeves to get things done allowed us to figure it out as we went. I am happy to say that Ian Rowe will be taking over as Chair this year. With a little coaxing, we might be able to get him to bring his background in improv theatre to our PAC meetings to add a little spice! I am also excited to welcome two great new additions to the Executive team: Juciane Gomes as Treasurer and Michelle Webster as Secretary. I'm sure they will bring lots of great new ideas to our school. Holly Paddon will be continuing as Fundraising Coordinator and Ryan Schweitzer will be continuing on as Webmaster. These are big roles, so we would love to have "Partners" for them if possible. If you are interested in exploring what these roles entail, get in touch with Holly or Ryan to express your interest and they will be able to find ways to get you started on small projects that match your skills and interests. Finally, Leanne Dospital will be our new DPAC Rep to continue to pursue her interest in keeping our community in the loop on all things related to education in VSB, the government and the West End community (such as new school builds) and helping us to identify concrete actions our community can take to ensure our kids needs are met both now and in the future. In the next few weeks, we'll be putting photos and bios of our new team up on the PAC website so you can get to know everyone better. Here's to another great year! Andrea p.s. Dear Families,
We wish you all a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend. We all have so much to be grateful for, not the least of which is the amazing community of families we are all privileged to be a part of. The PAC Executive team is especially grateful for all of you who have contributed their time, resources and ideas to help improve our school community this past year! In this issue:
Dear Families,
It has come to our attention that our PAC AGM this coming Wednesday occurs during Yom Kippur, one of the most important Jewish holidays of the year. To ensure that anyone who wishes to put themselves forward for a position on PAC Executive and/or participate in voting on our new PAC Executive, our updated PAC Bylaws, and providing input on our goals for the coming year can participate, we have decided to postpone our meeting until next Wednesday, October 16th at 6:30 PM. Hi Families,
Lots to cover in this issue, so read on! Here are the highlights:
